cowboy quilt

I mentioned in my last post, I made a few cowboy sheets for a little boy. The family is kinda having a rough patch so I took the scraps and a few scraps of my own and made this little cowboy his own quilt to match his sheets. I think I'm  going to mail it to him this week. I thought it might be fun to get a surprise  package. I hope he likes it.
I also quilted up the last one I finished. Love it.
I am ready to quilt up the little connections quilt. It is very sweet and I know will be quick to quilt.
I am a little late in posting, so no connections this time but lots done and a day off of school tomorrow. Late night tonight sewing. Yay!!!

Happy Colors

In the spirit of last weeks post and quilt, I just kept cutting. My husband liked the last pink and black one and simply said, "make another one." So, I did. these were also scraps purchased at the quilt festival in November along with some of my own. It's bright and happy. I really want to get the batting and backing put together this weekend and maybe the final, final quilt will be next week. I am anxious to get it finished.

I also got all the blocks done for Amanda Jeans Little Connections quilt. She graciously gave away the patterns awhile ago and I was lucky. It will be crib size. We shall see!!
My daughter's mother in law asked me to make a couple sheets for a crib, western style, and here they are. Not on the mattress of course but they look cute on . Oh so happy it's the weekend and some sew time.

Happy New year!

So many things to sew in 2015, Happy New Year!
Right around Christmas I had a little time to sew but nothing started and What I had left on my list were hard things that required some thinking. I did not want to think, just sew. My husband is an artist, so when I expressed my frustration, he simply said to make something simple to donate and just sew.
I did. I went back to the quilt I made for Margaret's Hope chest. I pulled out my scraps from the quilt show, started cutting, and it is one of my favorites! I love it. Not sure I can give it away. I just love the fabrics.

I also wanted to make a little seat for my little sweetie. I found this picture on pinterest and made her a stuffed little cushion to sit on at my house. It was fun to do.
I finally got my daughter to bring over the bags I made her for Christmas. I forgot to take pictures and they were wrapped before I knew it.
I also tossed together a small baby quilt for my new grandbaby BOY coming in April. Used up a charm pack and a few extras. It has soft flannel on the back.

Since I had so much fun on the first one, my husband encouraged me to just make another one. the top should be finished today. here is a sneak peak!
The days have been very cloudy, dark, cold and rainy. Not so good for pictures but awesome for sewing. Back to work on Monday so the sewing will slow down, but in the meantime, Yippee!!!
